My fascination with light art is mainly due to the enchanting effects of infinity mirrors, which give a new dimension to spaces with their depth illusion. After building a basic Infinity Mirror as one of my first LED projects, the next step was to build an Infinity Cube. For the construction of the frame of the Cube, I chose aluminum construction profile 4040, which is extremely suitable for incorporating mirrors due to the slots in the profile. For the spy mirrors to create the depth illusion, I chose acrylic spy mirrors, as acrylic is lighter, more workable and cheaper than glass spy mirrors. For the LED strips I chose the standard WS2812B strips and an ESP32 with WLED for the controller, since WLED is very user-friendly via an app on my phone. Finally, I built a base from MDF, so that the cube can stand on it with a point upwards, which for me personally provides the best image to fully show off the Infinity Cube.
