During the summer of 2021, my friends and I undertook the adventure to build our first steel geodesic dome for the burn Nowhere in Spain. The dome had a diameter of 10 meters and a height of 6 meters. To illuminate the dome from the inside, I took charge of building a unique lighting installation, an expansive LED matrix. For this I used WS2811 12V modules, which I attached to a football net of 4 x 4 meters. Then I added ping pong balls to the LED modules to create a nice diffused effect. To keep the control simple and robust, I opted for an audio reactive SP511E controller that I could operate via remote control. The entire net was then suspended in the dome with lines via pulleys.
